The Role
- Lead the overall day-to-day work of the Security Operations including teams of analysts and engineers to ensure events and/or incidents are detected and responded to in adherence to established process as well as procedures.
- Institute strong governance to lead and direct security teams with standard processes and workflows.
- Ensure that existing procedures are followed and that all procedures are documented in accordance with guidelines.
- Host weekly meetings with client project teams and monthly update meetings with the client management team.
- Provide overview of security challenges, risks, and opportunities to the Delivery/Operation Director.
- Manage and escalate roadblocks that may jeopardize security management operations, infrastructure, and SLAs.
- Identify and define security service delivery risks and offer, own, and manage risk mitigation strategies.
- Identify chronic operational and security issues, and ensure they are managed appropriately.
- Ensure delivery of required reports to customers.
- Produce and review key performance indicators (KPI) of SecOps team performance and distribute executive metrics.
- Work with the Security consultant/Architect for a long-term strategy and planning where necessary, including initiatives geared toward operational efficiency.
Qualification and Education Requirements:
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline or equivalent experience
- 10 or more years of professional work experience in the Security Operations environment.
- Strong analytical skills to define risk, identify potential issues, and develop action/mitigation plan.
- Security certification (such as CISSP, CISM or SANS GCIH) is preferred.
- Organizational, project management, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and assist/advise support security engineers in establishing appropriate priorities as well as demonstrated ability to manage customer projects and portfolios.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to mentor/train staff
