What You'll Do: In this position, you will oversee a committed accounting team, guiding both internal staff and a third-party data team. Your main goal will be to streamline and manage workflows to boost efficiency and ensure we adhere to precise financial practices. You will also ensure the integrity of financial transactions related to property management and deliver accurate, timely financial statements each month.
Additionally, you will oversee essential accounting functions such as vendor and owner payments, tax filings, financial reporting, ledger reports, and balance sheets.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Establishes and upholds controls to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring adherence to Trust policies and procedures. Oversee a team that processes weekly vendor payments, monthly owner payments, monthly tax filings, withholdings, and all division financials within those processes Set expectations and guidelines for Property Manager workflows related to Accounting requirements Assist with preparation of year-end tax processes, monthly owner statement schedules, and various dead-line related tasks Proactively review ledger reports, balance sheets, and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of transactions Process monthly travel agent and travel insurance payments Conduct owner training sessions during the onboarding process using Gather's 30-60-90-day owner program Assists Transaction Associate with month-end reconciliations and audits Review and communicate with owners, property managers, and internal and external staff via a ticketing system Maintain monthly virtual assistant team meetings Provide support to all Accounting staff and assist in the resolution of escalations Monitor team performance and identify improvement opportunities Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance required
Experience: Accounting experience in property management/vacation rentals is strongly preferred Real estate background or knowledge is a plus Track property management system experience preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in SQL a plus Expertise in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel is a must You must live in one of the following time zones HST/MST/PST COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Annual Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 based on experience and achievement
