Associate Research Advisor

Details of the offer

At BIT, we improve lives and communities by helping all levels of government, private sector and philanthropy businesses tackle their biggest challenges.

We offer a selection of behavioural science consultancy and services to help clients across multiple sectors to gain an understanding of their audience and create strategies that will help them to scale their business effectively.
Are you looking for a new challenge and want to join a successful and growing organisation dedicated to creating social impact? Do you have a passion for public policy and behavioural science? If so, we want to hear from you.

About Us

The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is a social purpose company that combines two approaches to improve people's lives and communities. First, we use behavioural science (behavioural economics, social psychology) to design new policy ideas with our partners. Second, we run policy experiments, often using randomised controlled trials (RCTs), to determine the effectiveness of those ideas.

**All our staff believe passionately in our company values**: always prioritising social impact, empiricism and humility, fresh thinking and collaboration, and public service. As our team grows, we are looking for an Associate Research Advisor to join us in Indonesia. We provide a supportive environment, offering flexible working arrangements and other policies to ensure the wellbeing of everyone on the team.

What does an Associate Research Advisor at BIT do?

Designing randomised controlled trials, and quasi-experimental evaluations, testing interventions

Qualitative research, such as developing & delivering interview guides, surveys, participant observation protocols

Data analysis, including data cleaning and statistical inference using programming languages, chiefly R

Research support for our projects, including preparing policy papers, trial checklists, ideas notes, and literature reviews.

Listening to the objectives and requirements of the organisation seeking advice from BIT, identifying problems, and specifically advising on research requirements.

Sharing and communicating insights through activities such as running workshops with clients, and addressing seminars and conferences to present project findings.

Why work for BIT?

You'll be part of an innovative and agile team working at the forefront of cutting-edge, evidence-driven applied behavioural science. You will be a part of projects that deliver social impact by helping citizens and policymakers think differently.

While we work in a fast-paced field, we provide a supportive environment where you'll learn and grow with on-the-job training from our experienced team of experts.

You will tap into a collegiate community of BI specialists worldwide, from Paris to Mexico. At the same time, you will be joining the close-knit international team in Asia-Pacific, where collaboration and solving problems together are key.

We encourage flexible working and have a culture that enables this. This includes flexible start and finish times and an IT set-up that allows for easy working-from-home options. We make an effort to adapt to our staff's circumstances so that we can get the best out of everyone.

How to apply

We use a great platform called Applied to reduce bias in the recruitment process. You will need to answer a few work-based questions, which will be anonymously marked by members of our team. Our selection is based on performance in these questions rather than looking at your CV.
