Blender (Cigarette)

The role shall execute, implement, perform the development from conceptualization to launching of new products, maintenance of leaf blends, casing & flavour system, cigarette designs, and supervise team of Junior Blenders, Blender Trainees and Junior Sensory.

Assist in providing training and guidance on product knowledge such as product quality, blends, leaf grading, product safety, productivity, and continuous product improvement.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

- Execute blend, casing, flavour, and cigarette design developments to fulfil the market product brief i.e.,tar/nicotine/CO target, taste profile, cost, price category, cigarette format, brand, and market of new product launches or line extensions.
- Conduct regular product maintenance to ensure adherence to tar/nicotine/CO target or limits set by market product regulatory.
- Ensure follow up and advice production floor in utilization of excess ripper short and cut filler.
- Execute crop mix and timely leaf replacements to maintain optimal stock levels, chemistry, and taste profile of the blend portfolio.
- Execute periodical check on quality parameters (physical, chemistry, and smoke attributes) for leaf grade sourcing.
- Execute physical & smoking evaluations, and set-up adjustment if needed on leaf offer samples and recommend which grades to acquire.
- Supervise a team on preparation of micro-blends and prototype samples.
- Execute periodical check of data on product process for quality index.
- Perform tobacco incoming inspections to ensure suppliers are delivering declared standard of raw tobacco and addbacks.
- Execute initiatives such as tobacco grades, blend, and flavour harmonization to reduce complexity and cost.
