**About the role**
This role supports the Strategy and Planning manager in the identification, analysis, and implementation of strategic projects in Asia, maintaining competitor and market insights and developing long term demand and market outlook models.
The role will also help identify and analyse corporate and business unit related strategic initiatives, including performing analysis in areas such as commodities, financial performance, markets and competitors.
**What you will be doing**
Product demand model & Commodity outlook
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Asia's supply and demand models
- Reporting of Asia and Global product supply and demand movement and market analysis
- Work with Corporate strategy and compile regular Asia commodity outlooks, market analysis and intelligence reports
Product profitability & Pricing policy
- Assist in the development and analysis of product price margin improvement project
- Provide market intelligence for pricing policy updates
- Capture competitive intelligence in product performance and pricing from competitors to leverage Orica's strategy
- Assist in updating national price lists considering changes on network costing and market conditions
Key strategic projects and initiatives
- Assist in the identification, analysis, and implementation of key strategic projects in Asia
- Develop presentations, financial models, and board papers to present strategic logic and recommended pathways for major initiatives
- Assist in managing 3 year planning processes
- Originating ideas for business creation and market analysis
**What you will bring**
- Relevant tertiary qualification in business, economics, finance or equivalent. Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, science, or equivalent also highly regarded
- Experience (c. 3 years) in or working with large, global businesses with complex/diverse portfolios and operations. Experience from a recognized strategy consulting firm would be considered highly advantageous
- Experience in corporate and business strategy development.
- Proven structured problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills
- Advanced MS Excel-based financial modeling capabilities; PowerBI, Alteryx, and Tableau skills would be considered highly advantageous
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to present strategic logic and recommended pathways, coupled with the ability to present to senior key stakeholders
