Part of it is the Convenience Retail (CR) has been proven to show better delivery every year over the past 3 years, and the Food Service Category which comprises Fresh Food and Drink is one of top 3 major contributors in the CR business. To support growth ambition, it is important to accelerate the CR business, hence the role of the Food Service Category Manager is pivotal to move forward.
**What's the role?**
The role aims to fast track the growth of fresh food and drink offer, contributing minimum 30% of total CR business, through innovation in offers that meet customer needs and creating excitements through brand transformation.
Your accountabilities as Category Manager Food Service includes:
- Responsible and lead food safety programs/training and assurance programs for food & coffee.
- Lead category strategy, product development and range expansion of Food Service category to cover all different customer segment and area archetype.
- Lead the brand building activities
- Evaluate existing proposition and transform it to new proposition on relevancy to today's customer demand and optimal commercial term positioning. Lead annual category planning, sales business review with S&O.
- Work together with learning team for providing training and upskilling for category managers and sales team.
- Create promotion, marketing campaigns, launch programs to introduce and increase value of key SKU's.
- Ensure Food Service (fresh food and drink) activities and promotions are well integrated with fuels, paylo, brand and comms that are responsible for growing the Online Demand Deliver (ODD) as an emerging channel for food service category.
- Work together with e-commerce team to create promotions, activation of online platforms and work closely with the Supply Chain and Operations manager to negotiate and get optimal commercial agreement with the supplier and partners.
- Provide food safety, food & drink handling, food & drink preparation standards and guidelines for each product.
- Set up a price position and margin for each product, practice competitor benchmark to ensure competitiveness interface with the global category manager, provide necessary reporting through and to the global organization and implement global deals and projects in the market where necessary.
- This role will require 25% of travelling.
**What we need from you**
To be a successful Category Manager Food Service, the following will be in your CV:
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in any course.
- 5 years of minimum experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
- Professional Retail/Food & Beverage and Category Management experience.
- Experience in managing Food Service Category Management as well as managing key Convenience Retail suppliers.
- Strong Marketing skills (creating promotions, Customer Value Proposition, Digitalization - Social Media/E-commerce Marketing, Marketing Planning and Traditional Marketing)
- Proven track record in Operational Delivery.
- Experience with Contract Management to optimize values.
- Must have excellent commercial acumen, analytical and communication skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and leadership skills with proven ability to influence and deliver through others.
- Must be proficient in the English language.
