Channel Head - General Trade

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Channel Head – General Tradeis member ofBayer Consumer Health (BCH) Indonesia leadership teamand primarily responsible for:

1. Leading country level sales operations team consisting of Sales Managers / Area Sales Managers, Sales Operation Manager, Sales Data Analyst and managing partnership with the appointed national distributors and branch teams.
2. Budget planning, deliberations of P&I / G2N funds to develop the specific sales channels.
Participate in BCH budget preparation process by providing inputs on market environment, competition, channel growth, sales volume & value by channel, channel plans and trade programs in align with brand priorities.
Monitor and ensure strict adherence to the set budget of the year. Recommend corrective actions whenever deviations occur.
Manage deployment of the P&I / G2N funds across the assigned sales channels to achieve the best possible returns in term of sales and channel profitability. Monitor the actualspending of the allocated trade P&I funds.

3. Participate in development of category strategy, commercial policy and programs to implement the same for GT channel customers at country level.
4. Accurate and timely sales forecasting
Work closely with Customer Marketing, Brand Marketing and supply chain on monthly forecast requirements during S&OP.
Monitor stocks level in the trade for proper stocks requirement planning.

5. Develop sales operational plans, oversee distributor and retail execution activities to achieve sales targets.
Effectively execute customer marketing and trade promotion campaigns with measurable end results, through close collaboration with the Customer and Brand Marketing team,
Build strong visibility, availability and merchandising position for BCH key brands in the assigned sales channels, with the aim of increasing BCH brands presence.

6. Achieve a high customer service standard to gain a competitive advantage over our competitors. • Set the standards in sales call servicing, i.e. to develop check lists of the "essentials" in a sales call and the follow up and follow through procedures. • Monitor closely the customer service standards at all times. • Develop and assess distribution strategy, expansion of national distribution network to achieve maximum area coverage and product availability.
7. Lead an effective sales organization design, including position's role, job scope,assigned sales channel strategy and sales resources deployment in the respective areas.
8. Lead, mentor, coach and motivate the sales teams, as well as co-manage and sharpen the skills of the 3rd Party field force (where relevant) with the aim to inspire and motivate the team to strive for high sales performance. Formulate and execute a Pay-For-Performance sales incentive plan for the sales team.
9. Lead the learning, training and development initiatives for the assigned sales organization and provide stewardship of sales talents through partnership with Human Resources / Talent Business Partner.
10. Ensure adherence of Bayer Corporate Compliance & governance policies in the sales organization, and all sales activities / executions to comply with safety, local laws and industry code of conduct.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree preferably in the field of business, sales & marketing
Proven track record of leadership in sales & distribution gained from consumer health or CPG / FMCG environment.
Strategic thinker. Able to anticipate trends and formulate business and sales strategies.
Demonstrates effective people and communication skills. Able to build relationships with internal and external business partners.  
Adept to coaching, mentoring and motivating sales professionals
Above average fluency in the English language
Proficiency in MS Office Tools.
