**Program Overview**
Land & Carbon Lab (LCL) is WRI's premier hub for geospatial data, analysis, and monitoring of the world's land and its natural ecosystems. Our data and monitoring solutions, which include the Global Forest Watch platform, exist to help accelerate implementation and financing of nature-based solutions worldwide. LCL has three main offers: (1) innovation in open geospatial data for land and carbon monitoring, (2) spatial intelligence to support NBS policy and target tracking, and (3) tailored tools that help businesses, governments, civil society organizations, and local communities make data-driven decisions. The program partners with leading scientists and technologies to curate best-in-class geospatial data on land use, land use change, and associated carbon stocks and flows. It also partners with decision-makers and local organizations that support a transformation of the complex geospatial data into actionable information.
Land and Carbon Lab' objectives are to 1) Create, curate, and serve as concierge to the world's most trusted source of geospatial data and analysis about global land cover and land use change and associated carbon emissions and removals; and 2) Design, deploy, and scale monitoring solutions for target end "users" (i.e., those whose decisions & behaviors we aim to influence to advance Produce, Protect, Restore strategies). At WRI Indonesia, the Land & Carbon Lab program falls under the Food, Land and Water (FLW) cluster, Forest and Peat Monitoring sub-cluster.
