Tasks and responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Assist Project management and become Social consultant for all or most of the social consultancy services of ERM including impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, land acquisition and resettlement, livelihood restoration and community development.- Report preparation (in English), and support in proposal writing and client business development under the guidance or direction of more senior level of consultant- Conduct the socio-economic surveys, social screening for the projects and Social Impact Assessments including Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) framework following direction prepared by senior consultant- Support the preparation of Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) including Indigenous Peoples Development Plans (IPDPs), Community Development Social Welfare Programs for Project Affected Persons (PAPs) and obtain clearances for Land Acquisition and rehabilitation and conduct all activities under guidance of Social expert- Assist in monitoring project management activities related to social performance projects, including subcontractor management, health & safety protocol management, and interaction with clients- Collaborate with other ERM global practitioners to execute SIA projects. Participate on teams comprised of IAP professionals from multiple offices around the global ERM organization
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences, international development, development studies, public policy, sociology, or related discipline
- 3+ years of social/socio-economic impact assessment experience, including as project team member and in fieldwork assignment in SIAs
- Previous experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in a consultancy environment
- Advanced knowledge and proven track record in project and field personnel / subcontractor management
- Effective and reliable team member and good personal communication skills; unquestioned integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address client and business needs and challenges.
- Solid background in social planning and impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, and providing advice to clients
- Knowledge and proven experience in stakeholder mapping, prior consultation, stakeholder's engagement strategies, environmental studies and Asia Pacific's social and cultural heritage regulation
- Good understanding of international sustainability framework and social safeguards such as IFC Performance Standards, The Equator Principles, and World Bank's The Environmental and Social Framework (ESF).
- Advanced report writing skills. Fluency in both written and spoken English is a fundamental requirement.
- Willingness to travel, including field work exceeding 2 weeks.
