**Position Summary**
With offices and employees in 7 countries and growing, Wildlife Works is looking to fill this newly created Business Development position in Asia.
This position will report directly to the Wildlife Works Asia Regional Director and Global Sourcing Director.
The of Business Development for Asia will be responsible for finding new REDD+ projects in Asia that meet WWC goals and criteria.
Skills include experience with managing domestic and international intercompany processes, data collection and collaborative work experience, as well as a working autonomously, demonstrated ability to perform high level analysis, reporting and communications, setting deadlines and meeting goals with minimum supervision.
**Responsibilities**:
Assists the Asia Regional Director and Global Sourcing Director in the creation of a pipeline of WWC REDD+ projects in Asia:
- Utilize personal networks for introductions to stakeholders (government officials, potential project partners) in countries of interest to WWC in Asia
- Work closely with Global Sourcing Director and Asia Regional Director to introduce appropriate WWC team members to present our full range of capabilities to relevant stakeholders
- Search for and locate new projects that meet WWC REDD+ criteria, liaison with project stakeholders or officials towards identifying and advancing new projects
- Collect information for project assessment with an emphasis on new REDD+ project procurement
- Update project pipeline data in spreadsheets and various tracking documents for team review, including maintaining, updating and tracking regional project opportunities in shareable formats
- Lead prefeasibility and feasibility study development in collaboration with the regional and global team
- Assist regional teams in advancing projects as necessary at the direction of Regional Director
- Take on other duties and assignments at the direction of Directors as deemed necessary for the future success of the company
- Liaise with donors and funders where appropriate to bring financing to project activities (schools/health/other) within WWC project areas.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, meet with key stakeholders and visit prospective project sites as necessary, at the discretion of other Directors, based on needs
Key Milestones Under Direction of Regional Director or Global Sourcing Director
- Spend time to really understand WWC REDD+ model, demonstrate ability to articulate model and step by step processes within 6 months.
- Sign at least one project for implementation within 12 months, draft at least 4 pre-feasibility studies with Global Team and identify 7 new projects as brand new opportunities that can be considered for inclusion in the pipeline
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Natural Resource Management, Psychology or related field
- 5 years experience working in the day-to-day operations of small international organizations performing such activities as researching new opportunities, developing relationships, planning and overseeing strategic initiatives and other related duties
- Ability to communicate face to face and in writing with high level government officials.,C-level corporate partners, international and national conservation organizations
- Good writing skills both for technical content and supporting prose
- Willingness to travel to conduct site-based work and assessments in remote forested regions
- English fluency—both speaking and writing—is required.
Additional language skills in Bahasa Indonesia, Khmer, or Hindi are a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication; a familiarity with legal documents and contracts highly desired
- Self-motivation and an entrepreneurial spirit are a strong pre-requisite for this position.
You must be able to self-start and should not mind working alone or with very little supervision in certain circumstances.
