This position holds responsibility for overseeing the complete electrical design and implementation process within construction projects. The role involves the meticulous creation of electrical schematics and construction drawings using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Additionally, the Electrical Engineer oversees site supervision, conducts quality checks, and coordinates testing and commissioning activities to guarantee the proper configuration and adherence to safety protocols. By preparing technical specifications and documentation, this role plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficiency and compliance of electrical systems throughout the project lifecycle.
The work of assignment for this role will be in Dili, East Timor.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Design electrical systems in accordance with project scopes.
- Generate design calculations for building electrical and low voltage works adhering to industry standards.
- Develop electrical and low voltage schematic drawings and construction blueprints using CAD software.
- Produce as-built drawings and operation manuals post-project completion.
- Review method statements and drawings before installation and ensure proper documentation filing on the server.
- Prepare technical specifications for electrical and low voltage equipment.
- Generate procurement material lists and create Bill of Quantity (BOQ) for price quotation purposes.
- Review materials pre-installation and quotations submitted by suppliers.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality checks and oversee proper installation.
- Organize and oversee testing and commissioning processes to ensure system configurations.
- Promote and enforce work health and safety protocols, especially concerning electrical works on-site.
- Be flexible to work in different locations as directed by management or supervisors.
- Undertake any other duties assigned or delegated to the position.
**Qualifications to be successful in the role**:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in designing and supervising building electrical and low voltage works.
- Proficiency in design calculations and generating electrical schematics and construction drawings using CAD software.
- Ability to develop as-built drawings and operation manuals post-project completion.
- Experience in reviewing method statements, technical drawings, and ensuring proper documentation filing.
- Knowledge and understanding of construction materials available in the market.
- Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- Ability to work independently with integrity and uphold a high standard of conduct.
