The internship includes a 4-week rotation at our Seal Beach, California Boeing facility supporting our Airplane Maintenance Engineering team. Exposure will include the (1) Structural Repair Manuals team, (2) Wiring Diagram team, (3) Maintenance and Ground Operations Systems team, and (4) Maintenance Programs Engineering team. This internship period is for 3 months only.
**Position Responsibilities**:
Daily responsibilities include active participation and engagement with various Boeing teams that may include working in the following areas:
- Assist in developing airplane requirements that will be incorporated into new airplanes, airplane repairs or modifications
- Participate in the creation of hardware and/or software designs
- Engage in the preparation of technical documents for components and systems
- Support the preparation of maintenance manuals used for flight operations and airplane maintenance of airplane performance used by airline customers to perform flight planning and operations with suppliers and airline operators to discuss effective system integration and customer satisfaction.
- Resolution of structural issues to help return airplanes into service
- Assist in the development of in-house tools to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks
**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)**:
- Enrollment in an Engineering Discipline: Aero & Astro, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Software, Industrial, Materials or equivalent
**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)**:
- High Grade Point Average (GPA): 3.5+ / 4.0 or equivalent
- Relevant Work Experience: Other Summer Internship Experiences
- Leadership Experience: Involvement in leading others on a formal setting
- Exposure to Engineering Research: Either Industry or Classroom research
- Flexible and open mindset with an ability to perform in a dynamic international environment with a shifting work statement and priorities. A willingness and desire to take on new tasks that may be outside normal daily operations.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
