- Researches and evaluates competitors' products, pricing, and services.
- Collaborates with direct reports to assess scheduled events, addressing potential challenges and conflicts.
- Informs the property about groups impacting operations.
- Works with culinary team to ensure adherence to food handling and sanitation standards.
- Supervises Event Operations, including Banquets, Event Services, and Event Technology.
- Manages the event planning team (BEO/Resume writers).
- Maintains cleanliness and upkeep of meeting spaces and corresponding areas.
- Manages furniture and equipment maintenance and inventory levels as per corporate guidelines.
- Executes brand service initiatives in event management areas.
- Develops and implements an Event Management strategy aligned with the brand's business strategy.
- Sets expectations and holds event management leadership team accountable for desired service behaviors.
- Communicates clear departmental goals for desired results.
- Identifies key drivers of business success and keeps the team focused on critical objectives.
- Integrates departmental goals into game plans.
- Ensures implementation of brand and regional business initiatives, communicating necessary follow-up actions.
- Encourages calculated risk-taking for revenue generation and excellent guest service.
- Directly engages with major groups in instances with significant profile and financial impact.
- Cultivates relationships with external vendors, establishing prices and service agreements to enhance the event experience.
- Creates an atmosphere in all event management areas that exceeds guest expectations.
- Consults with customers to determine objectives and requirements for events.
- Reviews and addresses results of Event Satisfaction Survey.
- Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conducts annual reviews of property-specific event operations, making necessary adjustments.
- Reviews staffing levels to ensure meeting guest service and operational needs.
- Ensures execution of departmental and property emergency procedures when necessary.
- Facilitates regular communication in all event operations areas (e.g., BEO meetings, pre-event briefings, staff meetings, food and beverage team, culinary team).
