General Cashier
The role aims to be recognized as a trusted finance team member. This role supports the finance lead in all training and development activities to develop best-in-class finance professionals and assists in developing their finance team. This role supports a robust control and compliance environment and contributes to implement EMEA Operations Finance innovations and projects.
What will I be doing?
The General Cashier supervises and accounts for all cash activities of the Hotel, safeguards cash assets, and prepares all financial reports related to cash transactions. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- To bank-in cash sales takings daily and reimburse paid out/deposit (made to guest from house float) promptly to cashier.
- To get best foreign currency rate from authorized Money Changer and update daily at the Forex board at Front Desk by 10am.
- To prepare daily bank slip for cash / cheque banking, other service i.e. changes of denominations, etc to the appointed Guard Service Personnel, and shortages are recovered with in 2 days of happening (Over / short Report Recap).
- To sale foreign currencies received to the appointed Money Changer only.
- Perform casual labour paid out as per specific timetable, after approval by AFC/DOF.
- Check petty cash claim correctly and pay to requested person only after approval by AFC/DOF and prepare reimbursements and JV weekly.
- Maintain proper record of House Fund Contract upon issuance and return of float.
- Train cashier as when needed.
- To relief cashier when deemed necessary.

- Ability to help develop problem solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate.
- Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for team to fulfil responsibilities.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Ability to develop presentations and effectively present to all levels of company, hotels & owners.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills (all levels of management and external customers)
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to quickly learn new programs when required.
