The opportunity: General Ledger Accountant As a General Ledger Accountant within our team, you will report to the Finance Controlling Manager for Shared Services, and support the ongoing transfer of knowledge and work from our locally based finance teams to the regional shared services hub. We started our shared services team in late 2016, and during 2017 we have transitioned work from the locally based teams to this team. The strategy has been highly effective and we are continuing to embed these new ways of working in our company. You will play a key role in ensuring the effectiveness of the ongoing financial operations, and will be expected to take complete ownership for your areas of focus.
You will shine here if you enjoy… Preparing journal entries and reconciliations to maintain the accuracy of the general ledger including fixed assets, inventory and accruals Ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance with IFRS Completing monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for management while adhering to required deadlines Preparing all Audit Schedules and assisting with Audit inquiries Preparing statutory compliance submissions, including audit, tax and secretarial Ensuring work is completed in accordance with the Group Internal Control Policies Ensuring controls are maintained in the fixed asset listing and vendor listing We would love to hear from you if are/have… A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA/CA is preferred Minimum 1 year of accounting experience, preferably gained in the Big 4 Experience working with FMCG or retail clients, or working for a company in these industries Fluent in English, experience working or studying in an English language environment is sufficient An Excel champion, with some experience with a large ERP system such as SAP previously Highly analytical with great problem-solving skills Good communicator and able to build effective relationships with peers and internal customers While at Sephora, you'll enjoy...
