**The Gender Equality and Social Inclusion in Infrastructure (GESIT)**
The Gender Equality and Social Inclusion in Infrastructure (GESIT) project seeks to create a better enabling environment by which vulnerable and marginalized community members, including women and people with disabilities, are more actively involved in infrastructure planning and delivery. GESIT involves a collaborative partnership between the Government of Indonesia, civil society, and the broader community, and includes employment and economic empowerment opportunities.
GESIT provides small grants and supports capacity development of local civil society organizations (CSOs) and organizations for people with disabilities (OPDs) to undertake gender and social inclusion
- focused action research, facilitate community engagement and participation in infrastructure processes. CSOs/OPDs will engage with private sector, undertake community-led monitoring, and run awareness-raising campaigns. By assisting local CSOs/OPDs to engage with local governments and report on good practices, GESIT will inform evidence-based policies and practices on infrastructure and civil society engagement that can be translated into local regulations.
**Key responsibilities**
- Responsible for GESIT's safe and respectful environment for all staff, partners, participants, and anyone with whom GESIT interacts worldwide, especially children and adults at risk
- Train and provide regular coaching to all GESIT staff and grantees to ensure adoption of Tetra Tech's safeguarding principles and procedures, and compliance with DFAT's requirements
- Support the GESIT Team Leader in implementing GESIT Safeguard Management Plan, in cooperation with KIAT's Safeguards Adviser
- Periodically review and revise the GESIT Risk Matrix, focusing on SEAH, to identify new risks, and document new risk levels and mitigation plans
- Act as focal point to receive reports and monitor reporting channels
- Liaise with Indonesian agencies and authorities on SEAH investigation
**Selection criteria**
- University degree in applied social science, e.g., Psychology, Social Works, Sociology, Anthropology, or related fields, preferably at postgraduate level or equivalent
- A minimum (7) years of relevant practical experience in Safeguards Management for civil society organisations and grassroots communities
- Experience in building the safeguarding/PSEAH awareness in local civil society organizations (CSOs) and organizations for people with disabilities (OPDs)
- Experience in conducting/facilitating Safeguarding /PSEAH trainings and using teaching methods adapted to the context
- Practical experience in working with people with disabilities
- Working Expertise in PSEAH and GEDSI
- Good working knowledge of development sector work; experience of working in DFAT-funded projects preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
