Job Description HSE Policy Development and Compliance Develop, implement, and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and standards in line with local, national, and international regulations.Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).Stay updated on changes in regulations and recommend necessary adjustments to company policies. Risk Management and Assessments Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to workplace health, safety, and environmental impacts.Conduct regular audits, inspections, and hazard analyses to identify areas for improvement.Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and environmental issues, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions. Training and Awareness Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and management.Promote a culture of safety by raising awareness and encouraging safe practices throughout the organization.Ensure all employees understand and adhere to HSE protocols and standards. Incident Response and Emergency Preparedness Lead incident investigations and provide recommendations for prevention.Develop and manage emergency response plans, including drills and preparedness initiatives.Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or emergencies. Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship Oversee environmental management initiatives, including waste reduction, pollution prevention, and resource conservation.Monitor and report on environmental metrics, ensuring compliance with environmental permits and standards.Implement programs to minimize the companys environmental footprint. Reporting and Documentation Maintain accurate records of incidents, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.Prepare and present reports on HSE performance metrics to senior management.Develop action plans to address identified deficiencies and track progress. Requirement Education and Certifications: Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor are preferred. Experience: Minimum of 710 years of progressive experience in HSE roles, with at least 35 years in a managerial capacity.Proven track record of implementing and managing HSE systems in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments. Skills and Competencies: In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for risk assessment and incident investigation.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all levels.Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.Proficiency in HSE management software and reporting tools.Strong leadership skills to foster a culture of safety and compliance. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in sustainability initiatives and environmental management systems.Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and their application to safety practices.Multilingual skills are an advantage, depending on the region of operation.
