**Position Title**:Human Resources Officer, Asia Region

**Status**:Regular, Salaried Full Time

**Salary Band**:$30,000-$38,000 USD depending on experience and location

**Duration**: One-year renewable contract

**Location**:Bangkok**, **Thailand or Jakarta, Indonesia

**Job Summary**:The Human Resources Officer (HRO), in partnership with the Director of Global HR, plays a central role in enhancing our human resources service delivery to ensure an exceptional level of support for the Asia Region and country offices. This role also assists with the day-to-day operations of the Jakarta or Bangkok Regional office. The HRO carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: talent acquisition, onboarding and new hire orientation, contract tracking and management, benefit management, staff offboarding, employee communications. Assists Director of Global HR in other areas as assigned. _Currently, we have staff in Cambodia, Indonesia, and Thailand. This position would need knowledge and experience in labor laws within a variety of Asia country contexts._

**Reporting and relationships**:The HR Officer will report day to day to the Director of Global HR and is a member of the global HR team.

**Availability**:The HR Officer will be expected to work a standard work week of 40 hours plus additional hours as necessary to get the job done. Work will primarily be done from the Jakarta office or in Bangkok, with some flexibility to work from home as needed.

**Essential Job Functions**:
Human Resources
- HR Education: Possesses a working knowledge of labor laws in the Asia region; maintains an awareness of changes in new laws. Keeps up to date with latest HR trends and best practices.
- Talent Acquisition: Assists in recruiting and interview processes including job announcements and postings, screening/tracking applicants in HR system, arrange/participate in selection process and scheduling, co-create interview scripts, and administer reference and pre-employment background checks.
- Coordinates, drafts, updates and tracks employment and consultant contracts.
- Personnel Administration: Prepare initial onboarding orientation for new hires; establish and maintain employee files; prepare source documentation needed for payroll or personnel documentation.
- Benefits Support: Assists with enrollments in insurances, coordinates with insurance carriers and broker, manages new hire benefit enrollment and assists with open enrollment, communicates changes to staff and addresses staff issues with insurances. Manages leave policies and procedures, ensures communication on leave is clear with staff, managers, and the Director of Global HR.
- In collaboration with the Director of Global HR, maintains and updates the employee handbooks, procedural manuals and other relevant policies.
- Assists in ad-hoc HR projects, such as collection of employee feedback, addressing surveys, provide trainings.
- Addresses and handles basic staff issues and escalates larger issues to the Director of Global HR.
- Performs general office administration duties when needed or requested. Maintains office-wide calendar for holidays, vacation, travel, meetings, and events. Assists in organizing special events and meetings.
- Other duties as needed.

**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- A deep commitment to the mission of a better, safer future for the world's poorest people through land ownership and secure land rights.
- Strong knowledge of general HR laws and practices.
- Experience managing employee and consultant contracts.
- Dedication and persistence working in a mission-driven environment as a constructive, solutions-oriented problem solver.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams regardless of role within team and to proactively seek ways to contribute to team success.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other software.

**Education and Experience**:

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or other related field.
- 3 to 5 years of HR experience, preferably in an international nonprofit organization with 50+ employees. HR Certification preferred (SHRM-PHR, GPHR)
- HRIS database experience
- Experience working in complex, multinational environments with interactions across cultures.

**Physical and Environmental Conditions**:Work is primarily performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work. This position does not require unusual demands for physical effort. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of places such as offices, meeting or training rooms, residences, or commercial vehicles; e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, and/or avoidance of trips and falls, and obs
