Carry out activities for preparing hydrological and climate databases, hydrological and climate surveys/studies, water resources management, and monitoring the implementation of hydrological survey/study results at various levels of information detail quickly, precisely and accurately for the company's internal and external needs.
Job Description:
- Carry out every stage of implementation of activities within the scope of the Hydro & Climate Section properly, accurately and on time.- Carry out activities within the scope of the Hydro & Climate Section, which include:
- a. Collection, compilation and publication of hydrological (river networks, ditches, water catchment area boundaries, groundwater levels and geoelectric points) and climate (rainfall, temperature and humidity) databases.
- b. Study of water resources and flood management in peat and non-peat land areas.
- c. Study of potential water sources (groundwater and surface water).
- d. Study of location selection and feasibility study of seed ponds, waste ponds, PKS ponds and excavation material locations.- f. RSPO Drainability Assessment Study.
- g. Assistance with certification and field verification with internal and external stakeholders related to water resource management.- Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external parties related to work related to the Hydro & Climate Section.- Actively carry out solutions and continuous improvements (systems, procedures and work processes) of activities in the Hydro & Climate Section so that they are integrated, effective and efficient.- Take part in maintaining assets (survey equipment and work equipment) both in the work environment, during survey activities, and after survey activities.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography/Civil Engineering/Water Engineering/Geology/Meteorology/Climatology/Forestry or in the same field.- Fresh graduate or have experience in the field of Hydrology and Water Management for a maximum of 2 years.- Have a good understanding (theoretical and technical) in the fields of Hydrology, Meteorology - Climatology, and Catchment Area Analysis.- Have a good understanding of mapping, spatial data, GIS, and Remote Sensing.- Mastering GIS software and systems (ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, etc.).- Have good skills in preparing reports, infographics and dashboards.- Have good English skills (active and passive).- Willing to go on business trips to plantation areas (Sumatra Island, Kalimantan, Papua, etc.).- Have good personality and interpersonal skills.
Special qualifications:
- Has work, research and research experience in the fields of hydrology, flood management and water management in peatlands.- Has the ability to crowdsource hydrological data, spatial data and climate data from various sources.- Have an understanding and ability to carry out hydrological modeling (SWAT, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, etc.) and climate.- Have programming skills, database preparation, and GIS system development (especially with the ArcGIS platform) and have geospatial data analysis capabilities with Google Earth Engine (GEE).- Likes outdoor and survival activities.
