Overview:
- Improvement Engineers focus on improvement of asset utilization by using the asset utilization workflow. He/she has thorough process and product knowledge to be able to identify, validate and implement projects. Projects are usually production-related with a profitability goal (cost reduction; increase productivity, etc.). Projects can be short-term focused (e.g., why production was lost) but tend to be longer-term focused (refrigeration units have to be replaced due to new compliance; project related to gaps determined during internal/external audits like ISO 5001 or ISO 9001). Depending on the job level, the engineer is responsible for defining the scope and approach of the project, design and timing, impact and cost estimates, and finally the implementation and validation stage of the project. Improvement Engineers are the owners of the plant capital and the successful execution of the capital expense projects.
**Responsibilities**:
- Daily production monitoring, evaluating process stability, quality, output.
- Identify opportunities to increase plant production capacity, improve quality and safety.
- Participate in implementation of improvement projects in the PS production plant. Both capital and expense projects throughout the whole production process with the help of the Technology center.
- Review and optimize work processes and procedures used on site.
- Leading in collection and analysis of data to define new improvement project.
- Coaching/training plant personnel on process chemistry, safety regulations and learn them troubleshooting skills
- Tracking and registration of daily production capacity and energy consumption
- Work on Energy improvement projects and have clear understanding of basic mechanical and electrical problems.
- Troubleshoot problems, facilitate RCI's, define corrective actions and follow up on the execution
- Providing technical plant support in specialized areas including process simulation, modeling, risk analysis, and process optimization
- Ensure the quality of product, research & development as well as laboratory running smoothly and targets (product specification) can be achieved
- Monitor the quality management system and the lab technician performance. Make sure all documentation stays up to date: Raw material incoming inspections / testing of finished product, special release documents, specificationsaccording to ISO requirements.
- Coordinate overall quality lab performance and improve lab operation, defines areas for improvement and set up hardware replacement plan.
