**Job Brief**
Junior Architect, will be responsible for designing and planning the layout and structure of buildings and spaces, ensuring functionality, aesthetics, and safety. Junior Architect's will collaborate with clients, engineers, and construction teams to bring innovative design concepts to life while adhering to budgetary and regulatory constraints.
**Requirements and Skills**
- Diploma's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Proven experience as an Architect with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of projects.
- Has 2 year minimum (Diploma's) and 1 year minimum (Bachelor's) experience in Architectural Studios or Design Consultant.
- Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) visualization tools and parametric tools.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction methods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality designs.
- Leadership skills to guide a team and collaborate effectively with various professionals.
**Responsibilities**
- Conceptual Design
- Develop innovative and practical design concepts that meet the needs and preferences of clients.
- Create preliminary sketches, drawings, and 3D models to visualize design ideas.
- Project Planning
- Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, budget, and functional needs.
- Analyze site conditions, environmental factors, and local regulations to inform design decisions.
- Develop detailed project briefs and outline project scope.
- Design Development:
- Translate conceptual designs into comprehensive architectural plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Integrate sustainable and energy-efficient design principles into projects.
- Select appropriate materials, finishes, and building systems that align with the design vision.
- Team Collaboration
- Coordinate with engineers, interior designers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior architects and design staff.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure designs adhere to building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities.
- Client Communication:
- Present design proposals to clients and stakeholders, explaining concepts, rationale, and design features.
- Incorporate feedback and make adjustments to designs as necessary.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the construction phase to ensure design intent is maintained and quality standards are met.
- Address any design-related issues that arise during construction and propose solutions.
- Research and Innovation
- Stay updated on architectural trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable design practices.
- Integrate new ideas and concepts into your work to push the boundaries of creativity.
