**- Plan, organize, and manage production operations for a specific department(s) across all shifts
- Help to maintain a safe, healthy and organized working environment for all areas
- Plan and schedule work to meet production requirements while making effective use of labor, material, and equipment
- Manage supervisor(s) on all shifts insofar it relates to the kilns to maintain production within the department
- Coach and review performance of direct reports
- Serve as a technical expert in the plant for assigned processes, sufficient to train new supervisors or production employees
- Assure adherence to operating standards, assist in the coordination of production schedules and budget planning
- Perform other duties as required; ensure the kiln equipment is working within specifications, safely and efficiently
- Ensure quality control measures are met; troubleshoot problems that present themselves at the exit (cracks, warpage, size, etc.)
- Identifies and resolves kiln issues and notifies upstream departments when upstream causes are identified
- Monitor the inventory of kiln consumables, including, but not limited to, rollers, roller bricks, baffles, burner blocks, hoses, and similar items
- Monitor status of equipment and consumables and organize/requests interventions to maintain optimal conditions (rollers change and cleaning, baffles and walls repair, other operations with maintenance support)
- Ensure all personnel are trained on kiln standard operating procedures
- Coordinate maintenance needs for departmental operations
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in EACH of the following:
- Experience as a supervisor; and
- Experience in a ceramic tile manufacturing facility
- Excellent communication skills.
