We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Engineer/Associate to join our Indonesia, Jakarta based Team to deliver a portfolio of Buildings and Data Centre projects.
This newly created position will be responsible for ensuring the projects are delivered to meet client objectives and requirements and achieve the agreed outcomes in terms of scope, cost, schedule and meeting client expectations.
Our Design team delivers a range of engineering services across the entire project lifecycle including master planning, feasibility studies, engineering design, construction support services, and operations and maintenance.
Responsibilities will include:
- Project management and delivery: Responsible for the management of multi-disciplinary buildings and data centres project to successfully deliver it on time and on budget.- Project Planning: Developing and implementing project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.- Project Leadership: Provide clear and focused leadership for the project delivery team which may consist of team members outside of Indonesia.- Project Finance: Responsible for the financial management of the project including financial reports to owner and stake holders, contractor payments, sub-contractor payments and claims.- Design coordination: Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other technical teams to develop the building design based on the organization's requirements. Ensuring the design meets industry standards, compliance regulations, and best practices in terms of power, cooling, cabling, security, and scalability.- Vendor management: Identifying and working with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to source necessary equipment and materials needed for the buildings and data centres project. Managing vendor relationships, contracts, and performance to ensure quality outcomes.- Project Controls: Develop and implement project controls.- Quality control: Responsible for the establishment of and implementation of project systems for quality, documentation (paper and electronic) and safety.- Documentation and reporting: Maintaining accurate project documentation, including design plans, technical specifications, progress reports, and project closeout documents. Providing regular status reports to management and stakeholders.- Change management: Evaluating change requests and assessing their impact on the project scope, timeline, and budget. Facilitating change management processes, including change control and change order management.- Team management: Leading and coordinating cross-functional, multi-disciplinary project teams, assigning tasks, and monitoring team performance. Providing guidance, direction, and support to team members to ensure project objectives are met.- Client facing: Develop and maintain good client relationships. Be the point of contact for client.- Attending Meetings: Attend physical client and project meetings for regular project updates, design coordination, or other project related issues.- Construction site visit: Make regular visits to sites to observe construction progress, construction quality, conformance of construction to the design, testing and commissioning of building systems and to attend site meetings.- Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building engineering, or a related field.- Relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Data Centre Design Professional (CDCDP), or similar.- In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, power systems, cooling systems, and security.- Minimum 12 years of Building design delivery experience- Experience in Data Centres design would be highly regarded.- Strong leadership experience in management of project teams working with a high level of customer focus.- The ability to demonstrate a strong technical understanding across multiple disciplines, including Civil, Structural, Electrical, Hydraulics, and HVAC.- The ability to demonstrate a strong technical understanding in Building Information Modelling BIM process and digital delivery.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups.- Ability to prioritise and multitask workloads to ensure delivery timescales are met.- Understanding of industry standards and best practices related to buildings and data center design and operations.- Proficiency in project management software and other relevant tools for project planning and tracking.
