**Job summary**:
As Lead, People Operations APAC, you will be involved in supporting South Pole employees within your region, by partnering with the wider People, Culture and Performance team, and other key Senior stakeholders throughout the organisation in executing all global People operations processes, covering the full employee life-cycle, and company policies. You will be the point of escalation for People Operations Specialists on complex issue resolution, alongside participation in operational process & system improvements, people policies design and implementation - all the time ensuring compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies. You will balance the needs of employees at a local level against the global PCP strategy and gain buy-in from senior stakeholders at executive level in the ad-hoc projects you work on. You will leverage your expertise to drive process optimization and service delivery. You will be an ambassador for service excellence within the People Operations function, driving standardisation regionally where appropriate, to mature our service delivery model.
**Main tasks & responsibilities**:

1) Manage employee lifecycle events for high complexity countries, including overseeing junior team member activities across the following scopes:
Talent Acquisition - When necessary manage end to end recruitment processes for your region, supporting the global TA function
Onboarding & Offboarding - Oversee and support your team/cluster with onboarding/offboarding requests when support is required Conduct exit interviews to support HRBP team when required
Payroll - Oversee and approve payroll administration for your team/cluster. Ad-hoc coordination of payroll for high complexity countries
Global Mobility - Proactively oversee global mobility requirements at a regional/global level, ensuring compliance for your region and oversee localised cases
Benefits - Oversee the implementation and ongoing management of benefits within the region and make recommendations for enhancements in line with local standards
Leave of Absence - Oversee leave of absence cases for your region, ensuring your team/cluster follow up proactively with managers and employees
Learning & Development - Managing learning & development administration & program management when needed and supporting Global L&D specialist with ad-hoc regional needs
Talent Management - Support the regional P&C BP in preparing for the regional Talent Reviews & Succession plan discussions
2) Manage employee relations for your region:
Employee Relations - ER Case Management for non-exec staff; Handle complex settlement and termination cases for non-exec staff; Policy: assessment of regional needs to mitigate compliance risks, maintain and update people policies and procedures in line with local employment laws
3) Other responsibilities:
Complex Query Resolution & Ticket Allocation - Review, checks and approve high-risk employee life cycle workflows for Tier 1; Proactively enhance your cluster team's ability to deliver consistent, on time and high-quality work; Continually enhance ticketing system responses to evolve standardisation within Tier 1; Complex query resolution for high-expertise countries
Project Activities - Dependant on epic prioritisation, contribute to projects for your region
Operational Excellence - Collaborate with Operational Excellence to identify efficiency gaps in our People processes at regional level, and implement necessary changes to achieve a high level of efficiency and productivity; Update policy, knowledge base and processes for your region
Data Quality Audits - As new processes implemented, contribute to audits for continuous improvement of system data
**Requirements**:
University degree or equivalent industry qualification is preferred
5+ years of experience within the field of HR preferably within a fast-paced industry
Strong knowledge of multi jurisdictional employment law, regulations and HR policies and procedures across Europe and Africa
Previous experience maintaining a HR information system
