Our client is part of a large multinational organization that has a successful history of over 20 years operating in Indonesia. Our client provides products and services for a number of reputable Mining Contractors and Mining Owners all over Indonesia.

**Key Responsibilities**
- This is a "Single Contributor" role.
- Purpose: (a) The role encompasses general legal advice on a range of Business Unit matters, including in relation to issues arising in the manufacture, sale, and distribution of explosives and related products and services; trading and procurement; property; health, safety, and environment matters; human resources and employment-related issues; privacy law, IT and such other areas as may arise from time to time. (b) Additionally, the role may involve providing legal advice on issues at a Corporate/Head Office level, including advising on miscellaneous listing rules and Corporations Act issues, as well as support on major projects or corporate transactions from time to time.
- Role Competencies: (a) Strong teamwork, assisting the regional legal team on varied workloads; (b) Ability to provide commercially focused legal support; (c) Ability to work autonomously, under direction of a member of the regional legal team as appropriate; (d) Provide regular updates to relevant lawyer/Group General Counsel; (e) Ability to manage competing priorities; (f) Ability to communicate with internal customers to ensure key stakeholders are kept informed; and (g) Ability to manage meetings efficiently.
- Essential Functions: To assist the Legal Team in providing legal advice to Group, assisting Group General Counsel and other lawyers in the legal team as required, including in connection with: (a) Reviewing/drafting sales/supply contracts; (b) Reviewing/drafting procurement contracts, including some small-scale construction contracts; (c) Negotiating terms of sales and procurement agreements, particularly on aspects relating to risk apportionment, e.g. force majeure, termination rights, indemnities, warranties, and guarantees; (d) Advising on compliance with competition laws, anti-bribery, and sanctions laws, and assisting with delivery of training in these areas; (e) Advising on intellectual property matters, general property matters, freight/shipping issues and environmental licenses/infringements, in support of the Incitec Pivot Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) team; (f) Managing and advising on general litigation; (g) Advising on agreements in the event of force majeure; (h) Advising on employment issues, eg discrimination/bullying and harassment, as required; and (i) Ensuring compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
- Major Challenges: (a) Coordinating workload to achieve deadlines having regard to business priorities; and (b) Managing internal customer expectations with regard to turnaround times

**Key Requirements**
- Having at least **10** **years of experience**.
- Has a PERADI License.
- Has experience in a Law Firm is **preferable**.
- **Desirable** is experience in the mining sector, manufacturing, or services sector supporting mining.
- Strong legislative comprehension.
- Strong negotiating and drafting skills.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills, able to work across differing levels/cultures of an organization.
- Word processing skills
- **English fluency**.
