This contractor position will be located in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia Under limited supervision, manages the Smelter Mechanical Maintenance Team within the downstream Smelter Division of the PTFI organization. Lead the implementation of asset management systems which includes management of the long-term maintenance strategies, long term planning, and supporting budget development and cost control reporting. Drives and leads change in continuous improvement efforts across the organization.
Additional Responsibilities: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, supervises, enhances, and monitors designated Maintenance and planning practices for the site, reporting to the Site Maintenance Manager of Smelter Operations. Lead an Mechanical Maintenance group in providing technical support and direction to the Maintenance department within PTFI's new smelter. Ensures direct reports and departmental teams have clear and specific goals to support the downstream operation. Ensures appropriate knowledge and training programs for direct reports. Ensures team is to provide proactive advice to the Operations and Maintenance Teams in ensuring optimum daily operations of the facilities with both a short and long-term outlook. Execute tactical and strategic goals, objectives, policies and procedures for the Maintenance Group as it relates to successful operation of the Smelter facilities. Apply personal expertise and knowledge while supporting Maintenance and Planning processes, ensuring appropriate daily, short- and long-range planning and scheduling techniques are followed according to company CMMS Standards. Support overall planning and maintenance forecasting activities. (Cost and equipment performance). Develop and nurture a transformative culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team along with a disciplined risk-based approach to change management, including representing the site on company sponsored teams, such as transformation office Agile Teams. Supervises or reviews, investigates, and develops appropriate recommendations to achieve or exceed downstream processing goals and objectives under a continuous improvement approach. Support and direct development throughout operational readiness efforts of the CMMS system for both the Smelter facilities as it relates to operation and maintenance activities ensuring alignment with corporate standards and best practices. Be a major contributor to the development of spares identification efforts, ensure adequate reviews are arranged and spare parts recommendations are received from the project groups. It is expected that the Maintenance department are responsible for the correct identification and forecasting of spare part needs. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field and seven (7) years of experience in area directly relevant to large process facilities. Prior major project management and/or start-up experience. Skilled in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees. Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions. Proficient in planning, scheduling, execution and follow-up of maintenance practices at large Smelter or Mining facilities. Working knowledge of CMMS and other business systems. Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards. Skilled in managing effective communication throughout all levels of the organization, both verbal and written.
