Prepare MPD programs that include transient and steady-state hydraulic simulations related with drilling, influx management, MPD Matrix and envelope, riser gas handling, running drilling pipe and casing/liner, hole cleaning, cementing and well completion processes on managed pressure mode, as well as operating procedures adapted to each specific operation.
- Coordinate specific MPD operations when assigned to projects (well-engineering and operation)
- Attend and support technical meetings, risk assessments, hazards identification analysis, hazard and operability studies, drilling well on paper, etc.
- Conduct land and offshore rigs surveys and design based on job scope and operating parameters, best flow paths and specifications for temporary/permanent rigid and flexible piping, isolation valves for MPD equipment installation and related flow process diagram and P&ID.
- Participate and keep updated documentation for risk assessment activities for MPD equipment and systems to include Hazard identification (HAZID) studies, Hazard Operability (HAZOP) studies.
- Perform functional specification designs/calculations for surface MPD equipment and integration with rig equipment (frictional pressure losses on surface lines, equipment and accessories, erosion, rig MGS capabilities, etc)
- Participate if requested in DWOP meetings.
- Developing kick response scenarios related to the MPD system capabilities (MPD Well control Matrix) Familiarity with a feedback control loop and control fundamentals including single loop controllers, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
