The
**_Project Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator_** is a crucial role within a construction, engineering, or industrial project in Indonesia. The primary responsibility of the Project HSE Coordinator is
**_to ensure that all aspects of health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies are adhered to throughout the duration of the project._** This role is essential in preventing accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents, as well as ensuring compliance with local and international HSE standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- HSE Compliance: Monitor and enforce compliance with all relevant HSE laws, regulations, and standards set forth by Indonesian authorities, as well as any project specific HSE requirements.
- Risk Assessments: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard identification for the project site and its activities. Implement risk mitigation measures and communicate safety guidelines to all personnel involved.
- Incident Reporting and Investigation: Establish a robust incident reporting system, promptly investigate any accidents, incidents, or near-misses, and ensure that corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
- Training and Induction: Develop and deliver HSE training programs for all project employees and subcontractors to enhance their awareness of safety protocols and procedures.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure that all personnel are adequately trained to respond effectively to emergencies.
- Site Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential HSE issues and verify compliance with safety standards.
- Safety Culture Promotion: Promote a strong safety culture within the project team, emphasizing the importance of personal responsibility for safety and the well-being of colleagues.
- Environmental Management: Implement measures to minimize the project's impact on the environment, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainable practices.
- HSE Documentation: Maintain accurate and up to date HSE documentation, including incident reports, inspection records, and training records.
- Communication: Communicate regularly with project management, subcontractors, and stakeholders to provide HSE updates, share best practices, and address any concerns.
**MUST HAVE**:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in HSE management (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor) are often preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar HSE coordination role within the construction, engineering, or industrial sector.
- In-depth knowledge of Indonesian HSE regulations and standards, as well as international best practices.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse teams and stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is typically required.
- Ability to work independently, make critical decisions, and take initiative to improve safety practices.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
