SUMMARY / SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Project Manager acts as liaison between the company and the client through an entire project life-cycle from order acceptance by Rockwell Automation through to client sign-off.
The position of Project Manager has responsibility for successfully planning, controlling and managing project deliverables for medium size, moderate risk projects.
To ensure that customer satisfaction is met, he or she manages the details of overall project schedules, and budgets.
The Project Manager manages the efforts of team members and third party vendors.
Usually involves extensive interaction with sales, systems engineering, product development, and other members of cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products to clients.
May work at client site on a day-to-day or periodic basis.
Monitors the project from initiation through delivery.
Organizes the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints.
The duties will also require proposal and estimate generation, client negotiations, contract review and sub-contractor communications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Functional
- Knowledge of industrial / commercial control technologies, automation, and information platforms, protocols, and communications technologies with specific emphasis on Rockwell Automation solutions
- Familiarity with various aspects of systems integration (examples include PLC, HMI, instrumentation, networking, communication, power distribution)
- Proficiency with Project Management functions such as customer interface, project budget maintenance, project schedule maintenance and project manpower planning
- Leadership
- Commercial project achievement and leadership in a controls engineering and automation related business
- Ability to lead, motivate, and work within a technical team environment, and managing a geographically dispersed engineering and project delivery organization and making effective use of collaboration tools and remote management skill
- Manages execution of moderate to large scale projects within margin targets
- Manages and reports all financial aspects of assigned projects

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum
- Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Engineering, Operations or Project Management
- Required experience with direct customer contact and project management;
- PROJECT (CLIENT SERVICES) MANAGER LEVEL 3 - Minimally 5 years
- PROJECT (CLIENT SERVICES) MANAGER LEVEL 4 - Minimally 8 years
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Desired
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Formal PMI based Project Management training
