Summary: The work schedule for this position is:
Full Time (40 hours per week) Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time four weeks of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

The Emerging Voices (EV) Specialist is the leading locally employed (LE) staff adviser for the Mission's Public Diplomacy (PD) engagement with the EV audience sector: primarily youth, minorities, and others who are able to influence Indonesian attitudes toward the United States using new, often digital, communication networks. Plans, develops, coordinates, oversees, and evaluates impact of all PD activities, projects and initiatives to engage EV audience sectors. Tracks trends in emerging networks through direct engagement, research, polling, and statistical analysis and analytics. Designs and recommends PD strategies and oversees programs to connect with EV audience sectors to promote U.S. policy and to dispel inaccurate perceptions.

This Mission is an OSM 5 post, a large Mission located in a country of major importance to the United States. Indonesia has the highest level of global influence of the vast majority of other countries around the world and its government is a principal player with which the United States interacts in all aspects of pressing multilateral issues.
EXPERIENCE: This position requires at least four years of progressively responsible experience in a multilingual, multicultural, or multinational work environment with marketing, public relations, communication, or education duties as asignificant part of the job is required. Experience with audience or market analysis and managing social media accounts is required.At least one year of supervisory experience is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:Must have knowledge of marketing techniques, market analysis and analytics, and customer service standards in the United States and Indonesia; knowledge of trends in experiential learning and audience engagement; and an understanding of communications in the region and the international information environment as it affects Indonesia. Must have general knowledge of project management, including defining project objectives, outcomes, and assessment methods.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degreein Communications, International Affairs, American or Intercultural Studies, Marketing, English, or local equivalent is required.
Evaluations: LANGUAGE: Fluent Speaking/Reading/Writing English and Indonesian languages are required. (This may be tested).
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have strong analytical skills. Must have excellent customer relations, interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills, and be able to identify and engage key figures critical to shaping local public opinion. Strong project management skills are required. Good keyboarding and data entry skills and excellent familiarity with electronic discovery tools, in particular the internet, and standard information retrieval practices and procedures are required.
