**About the role**:
As a Microbiological Lab Technician, your main role involves conducting various tasks related to microbiological testing and analysis. It is essential to maintain strict adherence to quality assurance programs and maintain accurate records throughout all procedures. Additionally, flexibility is required to accommodate both shifts: 8 AM to 5 PM and 4 PM to 12 AM.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Prepare samples for indicator organisms, non-pathogens, and chemistries for internal or external testing.
- Release results in the system.
- Maintain media and reagents for daily microbiological testing.
- Monitor and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance through daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal.
- Ensure the laboratory's proper condition, including equipment, supplies, and accurate records.
- Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner.
- Share information openly and in a timely manner.
- Prioritize safety, ensuring one's own and others' well-being in the work area.
- Complete required training, including preparing SOPs for microbial testing and scheduling service engineer visits for external calibration.
- Support the quality system and certification process.
- Independently execute assigned processes in accordance with Kerry standards, FSSC 22000, and customer requirements.
**Qualifications and skills**:
- Degree in Food Technology and at least one year of experience in microbiology testing.
- Basic sensory evaluation capability, allowing you to differentiate basic tastes and odors during testing.
- Experience in the flavor house industry, providing valuable insights into flavor-related processes and requirements.
- Knowledge of chemical substances, including hazardous materials or dangerous goods, to handle them safely and responsibly.
- Proficiency in GC-FID and GC-MS analysis, enhancing the precision and sophistication of your analytical skills.
- Familiarity with SAP system usage, streamlining administrative tasks and data management processes.
- Absence of color-blindness to accurately identify color-coded indicators and samples.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice, ensuring adherence to industry standards and protocols.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
