Overview & Responsibilities
- Selects, hires, organizes, directs and administers the staff and representatives handling sales, engineering, service coordination, and promotional activities.
- Plans, organizes, and periodically reviews customer account assignments to individuals and representatives to achieve required coverage to meet sales objectives.
- Establishes and maintains close relationships with key top level client personnel and coordinates with his supervisor and appropriate sales personnel.
- Periodically supports individual sales personnel and representatives in their selling effort with their customer.
- Directs activities of any assigned agents or representatives for Ebara & Elliott products, either directly or through other office personnel.
- Coordinates with the operation teams with regards to the Company's sales objectives.
- Analyzes local and general business and economic trends as well as sales activity in competitive trends, and reports to Sales Management.
- Personally assists in development of new markets and sales techniques in conjunction with other Ebara and Elliott groups.
- Plans, organizes, and directs programs aimed at specific products or industry markets within the territory.
- Collaborates with all other functions necessary to meet objectives on specific projects, including Regional Engineering, Region / Operations Managers, other District & Region offices, Sales Management, Marketing and Application Engineering.
- Assigns annual bookings and expense budgets to individual sales personnel and is responsible for meeting the assigned office bookings budget in his area of responsibility within assigned expense and manpower budgets.
- Plans, prepares and conducts periodic training programs for personnel under his jurisdiction. This includes sales representatives and customers on both an individual and group basis as required.
- Is responsible for proper preparation of order entry papers, for orders from his office, and signs each apparatus order prior to entry with the factory.(Where required)
- Assures that all sales personnel are aware of the order processes and coordinate with the appropriate Service groups to assure that Service activity in the area of responsibility is consistent with required overall Sales and Company objectives.
- Assures that good relations and communications are maintained with all offices and departments of the Company.
- Continually analyzes the capabilities and limitations of individual reports and representatives and guides their progress by suitable training and direction.
- Administers salary policy conjunction with Human resources and his supervisor.
- Handles or assists in handling credit and account collection problems within the territory.
- Resolves any sales credit allocation questions with other managers involved.
- Provides inspirational leadership to obtain high as possible morale and efficiency from the staff and representatives.
- Maintains good public relations at all times. Participates in technical, civic and community organizations.
- Is responsible for achieving assigned cost improvement goals, and obtaining maximum participation of all employees in the cost improvement programs.
- Carries out special projects (sales) as assigned by the Region or Operations Manager.
- As required, coordinates worldwide financing with customers, Company financial departments, and appropriate lending institutions.
- Identifies and resolves areas of conflict between Company policies and policy requirements of government agencies with whom we do business.
