The Compliance function is a Second line of defence (LOD) function, responsible for reviewing and challenging the activities of the businesses (also referred to as "the First LOD") to ensure that they effectively manage as "Risk Owners" the Regulatory and Financial Crime Compliance risks inherent in or arising from the conduct of their activities and for which they are responsible. The Second LOD consists of 'Risk Stewards' who are independent of the commercial risk-taking activities undertaken by the First LOD. The Compliance function is a Risk Steward for a number of non-financial risks in accordance with PT Bank HSBC Indonesia's (HBID) risk framework.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of **Senior Vice President Compliance Advisory Wealth Personal Banking Lead**

**Responsibilities**:
The role is a key risk management role with a broad remit and responsibilities including:

- To monitor and tack the progress of various work streams and initiatives underway which fall under the umbrella of Compliance Risk and Global Standards, provide policy advice related to WPB products, services and clients, and ensure that the Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime Compliance function is resourced adequately to address the risks associated with WPB business in HBID.
- To stay at the forefront of regional regulatory changes to ensure proactive communication with business and develop appropriate policy and framework to manage the changes in HBID. It will be the WPB go-to person for both Global Standards and WPB work stream leads to ensure processes are coordinated and implementation risks and issues are considered and addressed.
- To drive and accelerate the execution of Compliance programmes that directly impact business performance
- To be accountable for the implementation of Compliance policies in to the business and as such it will require close collaboration with various Risk and WPB Business functions in HBID
- To actively participate in various WPB Governance Committee
- To assist the Compliance Director, HBID and senior management within WPB in achieving a balance between the demands of regulators, external bodies and governmental initiatives, WPB business and ultimately the Group's shareholders and customers; being aware of the political, management, regulatory and reputational implications of a particular decision and courses of action.
- To continuously perform assessment on the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
- To champion the adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators. This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Regulatory Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity
Qualifications

**To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements**:

- Significant leadership experience and a strategic thinker.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management and policy in the language of business.
- Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex issues.
- Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with Regulators.
- Experience of creating, leading and motivating a team.
- Experience of interpreting and analysing a large volume of information and / or data and provide succinct summary for management.
- Experience of working within a matrixed environment preferred including reporting internationally.
- Ability to lead change in HBID contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Business globally.
- A strong and proven record of ability to influence senior management and articulate clear business reasons for change initiatives.
