Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The function actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, across financial and non-financial risk taxonomies. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of **Senior Vice President Traded and Treasury Risk Management Head**
**Responsibilities**:
The purpose of this role is to direct the effective identification, assessment, management, monitoring and mitigation of market risk and counterparty credit risk (collectively "Traded Risk") across Markets & Securities Services (MSS) businesses and products in HSBC Indonesia, as well as responsible for second line of defence (SLOD) risk management of liquidity risk, capital risk, Treasury market risk, IRRBB and pension risk (collectively "Treasury Risk") in line with the responsibilities set out in the Bank's Enterprise Risk Framework and HSBC Indonesia Risk Culture Guiding Principles.
The role holder oversees a team responsible for the aforementioned activities providing constructive challenge through detailed understanding of the businesses, their strategies, regulation, commercial and risk drivers. The role involves considerable interaction with senior HSBC management and local regulator.
The job holder has Principal Accountabilities such as:
- Provide independent input and challenge to MSS to define the overall traded risk appetite and support management of key traded risk exposures.
- Lead the implementation of the prudent traded & treasury risk policies and manage traded & treasury risk activities.
- Oversee the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of traded & treasury risk management and associated procedures and controls, including the assessment of vulnerabilities through stress-testing and scenario analysis.
- Provide insightful Traded Risk MI and analysis that helps to manage and mitigate market risk.
- Conduct relevant review on HSBC Indonesia proposed new MSS activities and/or products.
- Proactively identify, assess and provide a forward-looking view on top and emerging risks and issues, developing mitigating strategies where necessary
- Act as the key point of contact on all traded & treasury risk issues
- Provide input from a traded & treasury risk perspective to help shape the business strategy and ensure new initiatives and changes to the business operating model are appropriately considered.
- Support the business in the achievement of sustainable growth aspirations, by enabling the business to take traded & treasury risk appropriately.
- Provide risk stewardship for regulatory reporting related to market, liquidity and capital in line with local risk regulations.
- Liaise with regulators and other external bodies regarding market included Traded Credit & Interest Rate Risk in Banking Book, Liquidity and Capital risk matters.
- As a senior member of the HSBC Indonesia Risk leadership team, contribute to risk management and people development activities over and beyond the immediate scope of the role.
Qualifications

- Exposure to demanding operational environments to drive effective risk management.
- Good knowledge of derivative markets, Treasury products and relevant traded markets.
- Has developed a high level of professional competence which helps to determine solutions around appropriate risk measures, risk processes, risk monitoring and management.
- Good understanding of other areas e.g., Credit, Finance, Accounting, Operational, Legal, etc.
- Understands the strategies of the MSS and Treasury business lines and demonstrate deep business knowledge.
- Understand and interpret complex business requirements.
- Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most senior level in the organization.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management in the language of business.
- Strong leadership and management ability including ability to lead change, and to develop and retain critical talent.
- Proven ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Strong understanding of global financial markets and products.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of balance sheet, income statement dynamics and liquidity issues.
