Job Description This position offers a unique opportunity to lead as the Southeast Asia Sustainability Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for:
As the Southeast Asia Sustainability Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading sustainability program activities and compliance, particularly in the Rubber sector. Your work will directly contribute to shaping the future of sustainability in the region. Engage with stakeholders, both internal and external, to implement sustainability projects in supply chains and ensure compliance with industry standards. Familiarise the upcoming sustainability regulations (e.g., EUDR, GPSNR, etc.) and support the upstream supply chain in obtaining compliance Provide expertise to upstream suppliers and advise them on various sustainability topics such as environmental issues (waste management, water management, GHG, biodiversity and conservation, etc.), human rights, supply chain management, and farmer livelihood and living income. Support third-party factories in developing documentation on various sustainability policies and procedures. Lead the monitoring and evaluation of compliance activities with applicable laws and regulations and industry standards, such as GPSNR, Ecovadis, EUDR, etc. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement a sustainability strategy for natural rubber-related products. Conducting training and workshops for third-party factories Engage with relevant stakeholders, customers, and suppliers around the sustainability standard. Strategic Effectiveness Operational Effectiveness Organizational Effectiveness Requirements A personal passion for sustainable agriculture and food systems Pragmatic, organized, and structured, with strong critical thinking skills. On-the-ground experience and a good understanding of agri-business models and success factors are highly desirable Experience with product certification systems, monitoring and evaluation, auditing, and capacity-building/training are desirable. Willing to occasionally travel to remote operational areas. Degree or Master in Agriculture, Sustainability, Environmental sciences or equivalent 8 - 10 years of relevant professional experience Fluency in English is mandatory. Regional languages such as Bahasa, Thai, and Vietnamese are desirable. Prior experience in Rubber or Palm commodity is desirable Olam is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
