**Job Description Summary**: As a valued the Field Service - Steam Turbine team, you will play a crucial role in contributing to our key business priorities and departmental objectives. Your primary accountability will manage commissioning activities on site during the installation, maintenance and commissioning of GE heavy duty steam turbines.
Your Role:
- Actively manage mechanical, hydraulic and controls activities on site during steam turbine installation, maintenance & commissioning steam turbines of any size and manufacturer.
- Including but not limited to oversight of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostics on steam turbine, auxiliary systems and water steam cycle.
- Plan, organize, integrate and direct labor and tool and material allocation.
- Ensure the correct installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning and maintenance practices are followed.
- Provide technical expertise to customers, service support, field technicians and operators.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Attend technical meetings with customers.
- Provide timely and accurate internal and external reports.
- Provide customers with technical direction and validation on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) packaged products.
- Provide expert consultation on complex projects.
- Adjustment of electric, hydraulic and pneumatic drives.
- Loop-check and adjustment of analogue, binary and other measurements.
Adjustment of turbine supervision instrumentation.
- Commissioning of turbine auxiliaries.
- Optimization of mechanic, hydraulic and steam systems.
- Turbine control optimization and troubleshooting.
- Ability and willingness to travel worldwide, work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Drive customer satisfaction through promise to quality.
- Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards.
Basic Qualifications(requirements):
- Technical/University degree or qualifying experience OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a Field Services Controls role.
- 4+ years of experience in a field services or power generation equipment maintenance position
- Solid understanding of Steam Turbine Operation & Process.
- Strong technical competence in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical/hydraulic flow and instrumentation diagrams.
- Familiar with GE and/or Alstom control systems Mark V, MarkVI, Alspa P320
- Experience with turbine and auxiliary systems open loop and closed loop control
- Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments will be required.
- English proficiency required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Qualified level. Has the knowledge and skill to keenly support field service activities and be aware of where to seek answers to questions as they arise. Has experienced successful field assignments.
- Experience and training on GE, Alstom, Siemens or other OEM equipment.
- Extensive Field Engineering Services experience.
- Strong analytic, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong business acumen and ability to sell GE products to the customer.
- Ability to work independently.
