**Main opportunities / challenges for the role**:
Identify client needs and integrate value-orientated solutions in response which leverage the British Council's unique array of education and English-related products and services.
Understand, foresee and flag country conditions or market insight to spot and act on opportunities.
Build relations with new potential British Council partners/clients/accounts in particular from the school sector.
Resolve issues, add value and ensure delivery on expectations to client satisfaction
Achieving sales/ account targets
Assist in strategic decision-making to grow the exams business through partnerships and key account management
**Main accountabilities but not limited to the following**:
Winning business
Generates new leads through networking/relationship development
Identifies and converts opportunities
Develops value propositions with support from BD Manager and Commercial Manager with input from Region
Adds value to key accounts and looks at opportunities for retention through cross-selling and other initiatives
Monitors capacity and drives up/pull forward B2B2C sales to fill capacity
Builds and develops relationships and networks, particularly around existing clients to cultivate segments, and uses influence to work with others internally to grow the business
Account & stakeholder management
Manages and delivers in year Account Plan; develops out of year Account Plan
Links with B2B support from the Operations team to set and review the quality of delivery to support account relationship.
Flags and addresses performance issues in delivery and proactively seeks solution for an amicable resolution
Links with Marketing for targeted events, campaigns and collateral to support retention and value add
Undertakes contract review and refresh
Works to define Account Relationship standards and frameworks, including an up-to-date records on relevant CRM system
Practices Relationship Management, development and reviews (including mapping and delivering F2F touch-points, annual and quarterly reviews for big accounts)
Using standard procedures and templates, regularly records, analyses and reports on operational activity levels and performance data, to support senior managers in making timely and effective business decisions that respond to operational needs
Commercial planning
Carries out routine monitoring and standard reporting on commercial data involving sales, profitability and/or co-funding and sponsorship opportunities using an agreed set of corporate processes, techniques and report templates
Market & customer intelligence
Ensures product/sector knowledge is up-to-date and forward-thinking
Provides account /country-specific input into market intelligence activities, innovation and business development/marketing plan/targets
Collects and shares trends and insights within market developments
Analysis & Reporting
Using standard procedures and templates, regularly records, analyses and reports on operational activity levels and performance data, to support senior managers in making timely and effective.
Business decisions that respond to operational needs
Contributes data as required, to enable the development and distribution of high-quality, customer and market-focused marketing collateral
Leadership & management
Prioritises own work activities, from long terms plans into day-to-day activities.
Builds relationships and uses influence to work with others internally to grow the business
Requirement
**Role specific skill, knowledge and experience**:
Demonstrable experience, in large complex international organization of:
Business Development, preferably in an educational context, using consultative selling techniques
Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships
Collecting & responding to client/stakeholder feedback and identifying needs
Collecting market insight & identifying business development opportunities
Experience of working with UK exam boards or familiarity with school exams, IELTS and/or Aptis (desirable)
Experience of designing & implementing business development or marketing plans in an education sector context. (desirable)
Insight on schools or higher education markets in Indonesia (desirable)
Identifying ways in which services can be improved, and taking these forward (desirable)
