What you'll do:
As a Business Development Manager (Freight Forwarding), you will play an integral role in shaping the future of our client's sea and air freight businesses. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include identifying and qualifying prospects, achieving sales targets, engaging clients, developing business expansion plans, participating in local RFQs, managing credit control, and submitting timely reports. Your ability to work independently as well as part of a team will be crucial to your success in this role.
Proactively pursue new business through a strong pipeline, ensuring prospects are identified and qualified
Achieve and exceed GP and Volume growth in line with sales targets/KPIs
Focus on strong client engagement through high level of services to drive sustainable business growth and profitability
Develop and execute business expansion plan with key stakeholders to improve sales conversion ratio
Actively participate in local RFQ, collaborate with both products and pricing team for timely submission
Be responsible for all business-related matters pertaining to new business implementation, scope of agreement, business improvements and ongoing service performance
Plan and organise daily sales activities/pipeline through CRM tool
Manage credit control as needed
Submit reports in a timely manner
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Business Development Manager (Freight Forwarding) role brings a wealth of experience in freight forwarding, along with a bachelor's degree preferably in Logistics Management. You have proven your leadership skills in previous roles, demonstrating a focus on customer and stakeholder relationships. Your excellent time management and negotiation skills set you apart from others. Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English is essential for this role. You are comfortable working independently and as part of a team, and you have a proven track record of analytical and problem-solving skills.
Minimum of six years' experience with all aspects of freight forwarding (Sea/Air)
Bachelor's degree preferably in Logistics Management
Strong sales hunter for locally controlled accounts
Strong leadership skills focused on customer and stakeholder relationships
Excellent time management and negotiation skills
Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English
Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
Proven analytic and problem-solving skills
