This role is responsible for ensuring the financial and reputation integrity of the ANZ businesses through the effective treatment and mitigation of risks (Credit, Market, Operational, Technology, Liquidity, Strategic and Compliance). The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) must be a credible and visible Champion for a strong 'risk culture' amongst colleagues and peers.
CRO responsibilities include those as the leader of the Indonesia Risk team (performance plans, direct line management, career development), and influencer across the business. As such, the CRO will be a key channel of leadership communication, resource planning, problem escalation/resolution, ownership point for the country Risk Appetite Statement working in partnership with Country Head.
Given the changing nature of global financial markets, geopolitics, and global and regional macroeconomics, this role is responsible for understanding changes in the external market and the implications for local risk-settings, as well as communicating these proactively and clearly to senior management. By connecting globally across various geographies with senior management, the role incumbent will be required to articulate the Bank's risk appetite to the country and facilitate the execution of the Bank's strategy.
**You are also responsible of the following**:
Financial
Works in collaboration and consultation with key stakeholders from across different business functions to strengthen risk governance structure and infrastructure.
Builds and maintains strong professional relationships with the Country Regulators, Audit (internal & external) and relevant stakeholders to support franchise sustainability.
Addresses key risks effectively to mitigate the financial and reputational risks to the business.
Promotes Risk's constructive engagement with, and understanding of client businesses and activities.
Process
Maintains effective ownership of in-country risk management, credit policies, control frameworks, regulatory compliance processes.
Presents country portfolio profile and any emerging risks to Divisional RMC as requested.
Participates in due diligence exercises as necessary, and provides advice on risk issues and solutions.
Actively responds to regulatory changes and integrates regulatory policy into operational processes and procedures.
Co-ordinates internal and external Risk & governance issues and stakeholders, including Audit and regulators.
People
Leads the team by living the Bank's values and providing an environment where people can outperform.
Ensures team and individual performance is managed in an open and honest manner and rewarded.
Improves the bench strength of the team ensuring all individuals are appropriately skilled to undertake their existing roles and provide opportunities for people to develop.

Proactively develops talent and maintain a succession plan for Country Risk team.

Contributes to a strong risk culture in the Country. Provides support and guidance to the business to embed a 'risk-based culture' promoting credit quality, controls, compliance and governance standards.
Proactively recognizes future requirements arising from the business strategy.
Works with various business lines to drive and implement suitable controls, policies and structures to facilitate business in-country.
Acts in accordance with the ANZ Values, Code of Conduct, and policies.

Relevant qualifications and has 12 - 18 years of experience in corporate and institutional risk.
Developed knowledge and exposure to Risk & Compliance management frameworks.
Strategic management and thought leadership skills.
Strong collaboration, relationship, network and communication skills.
Strong leadership capabilities, good communication skills, excellent EQ, decisive. Ability to communicate confidently with a wide variety of people across cultures, geographies, technical segments (legal, middle office, front office, sales, RMs, Credit executives). This is a pre-requisite for the role.
Leadership of team - demonstrated concern for the team and ability to grow others.
Be able to work with mínimal direction, deliver to real-time business demands and able to manage conflicting priorities.
