HSBC Wholesale Banking serves businesses ranging from medium to large multinational corporation, providing clients with a full range of banking services including Global Trade and Receivables, Global Liquidity and Cash Management, Global Markets and multi-currency business accounts, as well as a comprehensive range of financing solution.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of
**Head of Environment, Social and Governance**.

**Responsibilities**:

Wholesale Banking (WSB) is committed to working with our clients to build a sustainable future for our planet as well the way we both live and work. We aim to support our existing and future customers to adapt their operations and business models to be more sustainable, whether through financial services or non-financing solutions. To achieve our level of ambition, we need to invest and transform our people, offering, model and capabilities.

The Head of ESG will sit within the Wholesale Banking (WSB) structure in HSBC Indonesia. The purpose of this role is to accelerate HBID's sustainability agenda through supporting our business and clients through their transition journey whilst originating and structuring sustainable financing and non-financing solutions. The role holder is also expected to have an active role in the Government of Indonesia's initiatives to achieve net zero through our support in Just Energy Transition Partnership's GFANZ working group and Energy Transition Mechanism Platform.

The role holder is primarily accountable for:

- Lead and support the origination and structuring of sustainable finance transactions in collaboration with local sustainable finance leads, RM's and business teams.
- Business development and establish origination strategies for specific sectors, portfolios and priority clients.
- Facilitate and oversee deal review and internal endorsement process, including Sustainable Finance Committee.
- Develop sales enablement materials and pitches to facilitate business opportunities and ESG thought leadership.
- Increase frontline's ESG knowledge on market trends and standards.
- Expand on new economy, technology and select industry client opportunities with high ESG grow potential.
- Collaborate with regional sustainability, coverage, product and functional teams to align client and portfolio prioritization while helping ensure effective deal execution.
- Integrate client transition plan engagements and assessments into the business decision process and sustainability solutions.
- Engagement with 3rd parties, industry bodies, ESG consultants as appropriate.
- Strategic travel for priority client meetings and staff engagement.

The role holder will support the culture change across WSB to embed sustainability as part of our DNA, creating an environment for knowledge and best practice sharing across regions and products, and foster a community of internal activists to affect change and support growth.
Qualifications

**Leadership & Teamwork**:

- Effectively collaborate across multiple jurisdictions, business teams, sustainability specialists and functions.
- Strong relationship management, interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels both within the organisation and with third parties.
- Work within and support the driving of a high performing team.
- Display a high level of drive and motivation to ensure successful delivery of business and customer outcomes.
- Promote a positive work culture based on respect for people, integrity of actions, creativity and collaboration, recognising the collective interests and outcomes rather than solely for the individual.
- Passionate about the ESG agenda.

**Functional Knowledge & Skills**:

- Knowledge of Wholesale Banking's sustainability strategy, products and capabilities.
- Robust understanding on the bank's sustainability and sectoral policies to navigate client engagement effectively.
- Detailed understanding of customer's sustainability journey and needs.
- Multi-year front line / relationship management or origination/structuring experience in commercial or global banking.
- Proven track record in a client-focused environment and providing tailored solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Wholesale Banking products and services. Prior knowledge in ESG, sustainable finance products or transactions a strong advantage.
- Ability to engage a diverse group of stakeholders to deliver at pace and build a trusted-advisor relationship with working partners.
- Understand on monitor the developing and diverse set of standards across sustainable finance, including the risks and avoidance of "Greenwashing".
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
