**The opportunity**
The Head of Sharia Propositions will design, develop, and maintain a competitive portfolio of product propositions that align with Sharia principles and propel Manulife to be a leader in Islamic insurance, meeting the needs of our customers, distribution partners, and shareholders.
**Responsibilities**
- Leveraging in depth customer research and competitive intelligence, create holistic customer propositions that are differentiated from the market, address real customer needs.
- Develop and continuously update the Sharia product roadmap and strategy, including market positioning, product vision, and consumer value proposition
- Collaborate dynamically with Bancassurance and Agency distribution teams on new product ideation, aligning priorities for the next 12-18 months to achieve strategic outcomes, and reaching consensus on key product and pricing decisions. This includes collecting and addressing inputs from agent focus groups and obtaining approval from bank partners when necessary.
- Supported by Proposition Delivery team, ensure that execution of proposition initiatives is completed timely, with quality, and will achieve the expected results.
- Oversee go-to-market activities to ensure new propositions are well understood by agents / insurance specialists and they are enabled with effective sales tools and materials. Monitor, analyze and report actual experience post-launch against targeted sales, distribution and customer acceptance, competitive landscape and pricing assumptions.
- Ensure active engagement with Delivery and Pricing teams to assess feasibility during early design phase of new proposition initiatives, and secure support from other functions (Finance, Risk, Operations, IT, etc) via Gate 1 approval at Product Steering Committee.
- Contribute to overall company product strategy and prioritization, connecting the roadmaps for Sharia and Conventional, Life, Health and Wealth, into a cohesive strategy that maximizes success across various strategic objectives. Review end-to-end product development process and suggest enhancements to achieve best alignment, efficiency, quality and impact.

**What we are looking for**
- A minimum of Bachelors Degree in Financial, Business or related field of study
- Minimum 7 - 10 years experience in product, actuarial, finance or distribution functions, with reasonable number of years in management position
- Strong expertise on the core principles of Sharia insurance and understanding of the needs and perspectives of different customer segments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Commercial savvy to create and present solutions that are compelling for customers and Distribution teams
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the organization and external stakeholders Ability to make sound decisions in complex situations to achieve a balance across various factors
