**About this role**
The primary focus of this position is to lead the Indonesia Infrastructure business and support the regional Infrastructure team charged with growing the reputation of the Arup transportation (Road & Rail) Business and driving the development and delivery of its project portfolio in Indonesia and South East Asia.
In particular, the Infrastructre Leader will be focused on building successful client relationships and on leading bids and projects in the development of a diverse and profitable rail team in Indonesia.
Whilst being focused primarily on the Indonesian marketplace, you may also be responsible for leading bids and projects in South East Asia (if required).
**What will I do?
**
- Lead the overall performance of the Indonesian Transport Infrastructure group.
Helping Arup build a solid track record in Indonesia, strengthen our client relationships, formulate the strategic approach, grow internal capabilities and establish a healthy pipeline of work.
- Develop a holistic local business plan as part of the strategic regional Transport Infrastructure business plan for growing the pipeline of work, mapping out which clients and projects Arup will target, what types of work to pursue and identifying the most appropriate partners for each where relevant.
- You will execute successful pursuit strategies and lead detailed tender submissions in collaboration with technical and regional bid teams.
- Delivering on projects as the Project Director/Manager and driving strong outcomes on projects.
- Responsible for recruitment, appraisals, performance development, morale and motivation of the team.
**What will I bring?
**
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in the transport infrastructure sectors of Southeast Asia particularly in Indonesia.
- Wide-ranging skills spanning engineering advisory and specialist technical services and the demonstrated experience of executing them on a range of projects in the Transport infrastructure sector as a Business Leader or Project Director on major Railway/Roadways projects.
- An exceptional understanding of the Transport infrastructure industry with strong existing networks of key clients and decision makers in Indonesia.
- Strong business development and client management experience, with the ability to develop effective pursuits and client strategies.
- You will have the commercial/financial awareness and understanding of the implications of economic and political trends in the local market.
