**Job Description**:Job ID#:13782Discipline:TransportationPosition Type:Contract**Language**:EnglishOur client is seeking a Transport Economist (International) to assist with activities on the proposed Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) East-West Line Project Phase 1 Stage 1 (the Project) will support the Government of Indonesia in the expansion of the mass transit system in the Jakarta Metropolitan Area (JMA).This is an intermittent contract with 22 Work Days from 18th September 2023 until 10th November 2023.This Job closes on Friday 1st September.Scope of Work: To conduct economic viability assessment of the proposed Project.Detailed Tasks and/or Expected Output1. The Consultant will undertake an economic assessment of the Project in accordance with the client's Guidelines for Economic Analysis of Projects (2017) to estimate the economic benefits of the Project by comparing with-project and without-project scenarios.2. The Consultant is also expected to professionally evaluate other assumptions and parameters adopted in the JMCA analysis and propose necessary adjustment.3. The Consultant will work closely with the designated client staff in the preparation and review of the economic analysis of the proposed Project. This will involve the following but not limited to:a) understanding the scope of the Project, in view to determine the scope of evaluation;b) reviewing available data and existing economic analysis contained in the JMCA study (this includes, but not limited to assessing assumptions and parameters used for the economic analysis; reviewing passenger data and forecasts as required; reviewing methodology used in the analysis; converting the project"s financial costs to economic costs in line with the client's Guidelines; as appropriate)c) identifying project benefits (both tangible and non-tangible benefits) and assessing their availability for the economic evaluation. This may include, but not limited to estimating CO2 emissions savings/costs for each project in line with the the client's Guidelines; estimating accident cost savings for each project;d) preparing economic evaluation of the proposed Project following the client's Guidelines and covering the key areas of economic analysis outlined in the client's Key Areas of Economic Analysis of Projects ? An Overview;e) estimating the expected distribution of project net benefits amongst private transport users, passenger transport users, vehicle owners, labor, government and the economy in general, including international trade; if appropriate;Job RequirementsMust have a post graduate qualification or equivalent in transport planning, transport economics, or other related fields.Must have at least 15 years of experience in economic evaluations of transport projects, preferably in urban public transport systems.Experience in economic evaluation of mass transit system or similar projects under Multilateral Development Bank will be given higher preference.Minimum General Experience: 15 YearsMinimum Specific Experience (relevant to assignment): 15 YearsRegional/Country Experience: Required
