Job Summary: As the Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) for our esteemed mining company, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading the effective planning, execution, and delivery of all mining projects. Your role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, senior management, and external stakeholders to drive the successful implementation of projects, while continuously improving project management processes and methodologies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Project Management Leadership:

- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the PMO, aligning project objectives with the company's overall goals and vision.
- Establish and maintain project management policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent and efficient project execution across the organization.
- Implement a standardized project management framework that encompasses initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure phases.

Team Management:

- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of project managers and project coordinators.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment, promoting professional growth and skill development within the team.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Project Planning and Execution:

- Oversee the development of comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, risk assessment, and communication strategies.
- Ensure effective project execution by monitoring progress, identifying potential risks, and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.

Budget and Resource Management:

- Work closely with finance and procurement departments to develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial targets.
- Allocate resources efficiently to different projects, considering their priority and overall strategic importance.

Stakeholder Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, regulatory bodies, contractors, suppliers, and local communities.
- Communicate project status, updates, and potential issues to stakeholders regularly, ensuring transparency and alignment with expectations.

Continuous Improvement:

- Analyze project management processes and methodologies to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
- Implement improvements in project management practices, tools, and technologies to enhance overall project performance and delivery.

Risk Management:

- Develop and implement risk management strategies to proactively identify and mitigate potential project risks and uncertainties.
- Create contingency plans to handle unforeseen challenges that may arise during project execution.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing complex projects in the mining or related industry.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management certifications is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of mining operations, including exploration, development, and production phases.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and achieving project objectives.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on building positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the mining industry.
- Ability to travel as required to project sites and company locations.
