POSITION PURPOSE
The Sales Manager is responsible for actively prospecting and selling Hotel rooms and banquet facilities to small to medium size groups establishing and maintaining the Mercure Jakarta Sabang as a 'top of mind' Hotel for all bookers/booking channels for these segments thereby achieving annual budgeted room nights and revenue targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively manage a portfolio of accounts across assigned segments ensuring performance in line with room nights and revenue targets.
- Achieve a sales conversion ratio in-line with set KPI goals.
- Maintain an excellent relationship with clients via regular communication.
- Monitor the productivity of client base and production on a monthly basis by completing monthly reporting including maintaining logs of definite & pending groups.
- Ensure all sales based client contacts are recorded in the company database in accordance with set procedures.
- Develop and maintain an interest in the wider hospitality market through relationships with industry personnel, national associations remaining informed of industry information at all times.
- Represent the Hotel and group at tradeshows and industry events as required.
- Research, qualify and convert new business opportunities via multiple segments including but not limited to Corporate, Conference & Incentives, Sporting & Entertainment, Religion and Leisure.
- Identify and proactively develop new group business opportunities for the property.
- Conduct site inspections while ensuring comprehensive product knowledge of the Hotel and the group is maintained.
- Act as the key contact to all assigned Groups requirements, including the processing of quotes, contracts, rooming lists & billing.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy & respond promptly to all inquiries, leads and correspondence requesting rates and proposals.
- Ensure receipt of accurate and detailed information and rooming lists with distribution on a timely basis to the Front Office and Food and Beverage Service Department for loading.
- Prepare & distribute Groups resumes to all key departments, ensuring thorough overview of groups essential needs.
- Complete all Banquet Event Orders in a timely manner and submit to all necessary departments to execute Group events.
- Ensure all Food & Beverage vouchers and/or gift cards are ready for Group's arrival as well as necessary memos informing applicable restaurants.
- Collect prepayment from non-billable accounts & research Group invoices that are forwarded from Accounting Department for discrepancies.
- Maintain effective channels of communication through actively participating in any sales meetings, contributing ideas for sales initiatives and to meet the needs of our Hotel guests and key stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with the Front Office Manager and Security Team to ensure welcome/departure of all groups are conducted with open lines of communication maintained during stay and follow up with key group contact for forward booking opportunities.
- Respond quickly and professionally to any guest complaint and implement appropriate action or follow up to resolve the problem to the satisfaction of the guest.
- Perform ongoing competitor Hotel and market segment analysis.
- Ensure dress standards and grooming guidelines are maintained at all times.
- Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Hotel policies and procedures.
